The Section for Health Protection engages in various activities such as animal healthcare, laboratory testing, combating infectious diseases and zoonoses, safeguarding human health, and environmental protection. Through these efforts, the Institute contributes to the advancement of the global “One Health” approach, aiming to preserve and enhance overall well-being. Its multidisciplinary approach ensures effective care for production animals, thorough monitoring of hunting game and wild animal health, targeted prevention measures, therapy recommendations, and immunoprophylaxis.
The Section recognizes the significance of its personnel in achieving its objectives. Alongside seasoned experts, it places emphasis on recruiting veterinary doctors and technical staff while prioritizing their ongoing training both domestically and internationally.

For laboratory diagnostics, the Section adheres to standardized methods, boasting accreditation for 86 methods compliant with the SRPS ISO 17025:2017 standards.
