Fields of science for selection into the profession
The Scientific Council of the Scientific Institute for Veterinary Medicine of Serbia makes a proposal for a decision on the selection of a scientific title based on the submitted request.

The proposal of the decision is verified by the corresponding Matric Scientific Committee, and for the title of senior scientific associate and scientific advisor by the Commission for the acquisition of scientific titles of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation. The institute can make a decision proposal for the following area:
– Field of science: biotechnical sciences
– Branch of science: veterinary medicine
– Scientific discipline: preclinical veterinary medicine, clinical veterinary medicine and food safety
Narrower scientific disciplines within preclinical veterinary medicine are: morphology and physiology, pharmacology and toxicology, pathology, microbiology and immunology, parasitology, nutrition and animal feed safety, animal hygiene and animal welfare
Narrower scientific disciplines within clinical veterinary medicine are: diseases of ungulates, diseases of ungulates, diseases of poultry, diseases of dogs, cats and wild game, infectious diseases and epizootiology, veterinary surgery, animal reproduction, radiology and radiobiology
Narrow scientific disciplines within food safety are: hygiene and technology of foods of animal origin, microbiology of foods of animal origin, hygiene and technology of meat, hygiene and technology of milk
In the request, it is necessary for the candidate to state in which field, branch of science, scientific discipline and narrower scientific discipline according to his education and publications he wants to be elected.
Exceptionally, if the candidate meets the requirements, the Institute can submit a proposal for a decision to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development for selection for a position in the field of medical sciences.
Selection of candidates employed in other institutions
If the candidate is employed in another scientific research organization, he is obliged to attach to the application the decision of the Scientific Council of the organization in which he works, giving reasoned consent to the initiation of the selection procedure for a scientific title at the Scientific Institute of Veterinary Medicine of Serbia. Candidates from other institutions and unemployed persons are required to submit a certificate of payment of the fee for selection according to the current price list of the Scientific Institute of Veterinary Medicine of Serbia with the application for selection.
Candidates are advised to contact one of the members of the Academic Council before submitting the materials to check the completeness of the documentation. The list of members of the Scientific Council can be found on the website of the Scientific Institute for Veterinary Medicine of Serbia (www.nivs.rs).
