The following analyzes are performed in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry:

  • quality control of foodstuffs of animal origin:
  • quality of milk and milk products
  • quality of meat and meat products
  • quality of honey and other bee products
  • quality of eggs and egg products
  • determination of residues of toxic elements and organic pollutants
  • quality control for animal feed
  • determination of general quality parameters (protein, moisture, cellulose, fat, moisture)
  • determination of microelement content in finished food and premixes
  • determination of vitamin content
  • determination of coccidiostats and some veterinary drugs that are therapeutically dosed through animal feed
  • determination of residues of toxic elements and organic pollutants

In addition to the standard methods prescribed by the valid Regulations, standards (ISO, JUS ISO, AOAS), methods from the pharmacopoeia, methods prescribed by the equipment manufacturer, as well as methods developed in the laboratory are used. Most of the methods applied in the Department are accredited according to the SRPS ISO/IEC 17025:2006 standard.
