Description of basic activities
The Service, established in 2005 as an independent unit within the Section for Animal Health, engages in various activities. It accepts samples and testing requests, dispatches testing orders to laboratories, and electronically gathers laboratory test results pertaining to health status and causes of death. Subsequently, it compiles reports on these tests and ensures their distribution. Due to the handling of pathological and infectious materials, stringent protective measures are implemented during sample management, labeling, and distribution among laboratories, aimed at safeguarding both personnel and samples from contamination.
Operating in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and ISO 9001:2015 standards, employees conduct their duties with adherence to principles of objectivity, impartiality, and confidentiality. They are entrusted with preserving the confidentiality of information acquired during their service-related activities.
