Fields of Science for Appointment to Academic title
The Scientific Council of the Scientific Institute for Veterinary Medicine of Serbia proposes a decision for appointment to academic titles based on the submitted application.

The proposed decision is verified by the relevant Scientific Committee, and for the titles of senior scientific associate and scientific advisor, by the Commission for Acquiring Scientific Titles of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation. The Institute may propose a decision for the following area:
Field of Science: Biotechnical Sciences
Branch of Science: Veterinary Medicine
Scientific Discipline: Preclinical Veterinary Medicine, Clinical Veterinary Medicine, and Food Safety
Sub-disciplines within Preclinical Veterinary Medicine include: Morphology and Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology, Parasitology, Animal Nutrition and Food Safety, Zoohygiene and Animal Welfare.
Sub-disciplines within Clinical Veterinary Medicine include: Diseases of Ungulates, Diseases of Ruminants, Poultry Diseases, Diseases of Dogs, Cats, and Wildlife, Infectious Diseases and Epizootiology, Veterinary Surgery, Animal Reproduction, Radiology and Radiobiology
Sub-disciplines within Food Safety include: Hygiene and Technology of Animal-Origin Foods, Microbiology of Animal-Origin Foods, Meat Hygiene and Technology, Milk Hygiene and Technology
The candidate must specify in the application the area, branch of science, scientific discipline, and sub-discipline according to their education and publications in which they wish to be appointed.
Exceptionally, if the candidate meets the requirements, the Institute may submit a proposal to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development for appointment to academic titles in the field of medical sciences.
Appointment to academic titles for candidates employed in other institutions
If the candidate is employed in another research institution, they are obliged to attach to the application a decision of the Scientific Council of the organization in which they work, providing reasoned consent to initiate the procedure for appointment to academic titles at the Scientific Institute for Veterinary Medicine of Serbia. Candidates from other institutions and unemployed individuals must submit with the application for appointment to academic titles a confirmation of payment of the fee for appointment to academic titles according to the current price list of the Scientific Institute for Veterinary Medicine of Serbia.
Candidates are advised to contact one of the members of the Scientific Council before submitting the materials to verify the completeness of the documentation. The list of members of the Scientific Council can be found on the website of the Scientific Institute for Veterinary Medicine of Serbia (www.nivs.rs).
The material in paper form, arranged in a folder or file according to the above-mentioned order, is submitted to the Scientific Council of the Scientific Institute for Veterinary Medicine of Serbia at the address:
