A workshop organized by the European Union – “Better Training for Safer Food” (BTSF) was held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 21 until the 25th 11. 2016. years
The workshop was attended by representatives of Veterinary Administrations, veterinary inspections and veterinary institutes from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Greece and Bulgaria, Moldova and Romania.
A total of 28 experts were present at this training. The tutors were Dr. Chris De Klerk (CEVA KODA Belgium, from next year EURL for LSD), Dr. Eva Tupurainen, independent consultant for LSD and until recently re-head of the laboratory in Pirbright (Great Britain) for LSD, Dr. Paolo Calistri (FAO), Dr. Dimitrios Delaverios DG SANTE, Mark Cronin DG SANTE, Yuval Gottlieb, Professor of the University of Jerusalem and Davide Lelli – ISLER Lombardy.
All countries submitted a report on the situation and results in the eradication of LSD, and on behalf of Serbia, the report was submitted by the Republic Veterinary Inspector Mika Marjanović.
